Power-One Opens New Inverter Manufacturing Facility in Phoenix

Solar power inverter manufacturer, Power-One, opened its new 122,000 square-foot manufacturing facility and research and development center in Phoenix. Wind and photovoltaic (PV) inverters are to be manufactured at this facility.

Power-One expects the production to reach 1 gigawatt by the year end and along with the available capacity the production will reach 4 gigawatts. These inverters are for commercial, residential and utility purposes.

The first central inverter assembled at this facility was signed by the Governor of Arizona Jan Brewer, the Mayor of Phoenix, Phil Gordon, the President and CEO of Greater Phoenix Economic Council, the President and CEO of Arizona Commerce Authority, the President and CEO of Power-One, and other dignitaries. The Arizona dignitaries welcomed the entrance of Power-One in Phoenix.

The world’s second-largest solar power inverter manufacturer will increase the number of people it employs from 40, as of now to 350, signaling Phoenix’s economic recovery.
