Constellation Energy Takes over Solar Power Project from Community Energy

Constellation Energy and Community Energy Solar declared that Constellation energy by utilizing one of its retail business units has consented to take over a 7.8 MW DC solar power production project from Community Energy, the developer of the project. Constellation Energy has agreed to fund and construct the project on its own and manage its operations.

The ground mounted solar project will be located in two places in Vineland N.J. over an area of 40 acres. A 4.8 MW DC installation will be located in West Vineland site and another 3.0 MW DC installation will be placed in the North Vineland site. The solar installation is anticipated to generate over 10 million kWh of renewable energy every year. The 20 year power purchase agreement signed by Community Energy with Vineland Municipal Electric has been delegated to Constellation Energy and the utility company will buy the power generated from the solar installations located in Vineland New Jersey. The project rated one among the three biggest solar power projects in New Jersey is expected to get completed and start generating clean solar energy this summer.

The 10 million kWh of energy generated from the solar installation can be equated to offsetting of nearly 7,182 metric tons of carbon dioxide every year or removal of 1,373 passenger cars off the road annually.
