Constellation Earns Coveted Award for Efficiency Made Easy program

Constellation yesterday received the 2013 Platts Global Energy Award in the “Energy Efficiency -- Energy Supplier” category for its Efficiency Made Easy program. Efficiency Made Easy gives Constellation commercial and industrial customers in competitive electricity markets the ability to fund energy conservation measures, such as energy efficient lighting, building automation controls and HVAC upgrades, as part of their electricity supply bill.

“Constellation is honored to be recognized for our commitment to developing and delivering products and services that enable customers to better manage their energy use,” said Gary Fromer, senior vice president, energy management programs, for Constellation. “Finding the capital to implement energy conservation measures is a common hurdle for customers. Efficiency Made Easy helps Constellation and its fulfillment partners make energy efficiency projects viable, allowing customers to reduce energy costs and implement sustainable business practices.”

From January 2012 to September 2013, Constellation’s Efficiency Made Easy customers saved a total estimated 84 million kilowatt-hours of electricity -- representing an average 21 percent reduction per customer. During the same period, the energy conservation measures implemented helped to avoid the release of more than 59,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of taking 12,292 cars off the road according to U.S. EPA data.

The Platts “Energy Efficiency -- Energy Supplier” award recognizes demand side programs that help consumers and businesses save energy. Nominees were judged on performance and achievements since January 2012.

Platts award winners are selected by an impartial panel of international energy experts that includes past and present heads of energy companies, energy ministers, national regulators, academics and legislators.

A NAESCO-accredited Energy Services Provider, Constellation and its fulfillment partners have assisted commercial customers and public agencies throughout the U.S. to implement energy efficiency programs.
