Surfurcell’s Thin-film Solar Module Receives TÜV Rheinland Certification

The global leader in product safety and quality certification, TÜV Rheinland, has validated the 12.6% efficiency of Sulfurcell’s second generation 94W thin-film photovoltaic (PV) module. The module will be shipped to customers in the third quarter of 2011.

Since the production of its first module in 2005, Sulfurcell has increased its production capacity to 35MW and has developed solutions for commercial rooftops, BIPV and solar construction sectors.

Sulfurcell will acquire new CIGSe equipment and fund its research and development wing to target 14% efficiency of its thin-film PV module within the next year and a half funded by the €18.8m received from existing investors as equity financing.
