SunPods’ SOILS Solution Selected for Closed Landfill Project

SunPods, a California-based solar systems manufacturer, has signed a Letter of Intent with Project Navigator, a solar power project development company, for utilizing its SOILS (Solar Operational Landfill System) solution in development of a 2 MW photovoltaic (PV) solar facility.

Project Navigator, (PNL) has inked through PVNavigator, a lease option agreement with the San Bernardino County for the evaluation of the site for the solar project to be developed on the Big Bear Sanitary landfill.

SunPods would deliver the solar arrays built at its factory in a fully assembled and pre-wired condition to the landfill site. The arrays would then be arranged according to project size. The SunPods SOILS solution has the ability to withstand winds up to 90 mph, and can be installed on uneven terrain such as brown field sites or landfills.
