Phillips-Van Heusen to Install Solar PV System

Phillips-Van Heusen  (PVH), an apparel company, plans to install solar PV systems at its main administrative offices in Bridgewater.

The company has embarked on this green project in support of its corporate social responsibilities towards its environmental commitments.

Phillips-Van Heusen to install 850 solar panels in Bridgewater

PVH has intended to install 890 Solyndra solar panels on the rooftop of its offices. Solis Partners has been awarded a turnkey contract for the supply of the solar panels. The 152.2 kW solar power system is expected to generate around 180,000 kWH in its first year, which would be sufficient to supply power to 27 residences. The power generated would be equivalent to the reduction of over 240,000 pounds of CO2.

The Bridgewater offices have recently installed a white TPO reflective roof, which along with the solar panels would help reduce the power consumption of the building and its carbon footprint. The solar power system will also help mitigate the heat island effect.

PVH is  scheduled to commence construction of the system in April of 2011.
