Luminous Power Technologies, a leading Power Backup Solutions provider for home, telecom towers, commercial and renewable energy systems, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Simon Fraser University (SFU) and the City of Surrey.
There is a partnership plan in the offing for developing clean energy systems in Surrey in British Columbia. The main aim of this cooperative venture is to support the entry of Luminous in Surrey and also foster education and research partnerships with the university campus for building a robust sustainability sector.
Surrey has a huge potential for economic growth in the clean technology and sustainability sector. This city has several vital advantages such as SFU’s highly esteemed research facilities with the latest research tools along with a city government that is highly proactive. This new partnership with Luminous would work on developing clean energy systems manufacturing and development connected to education, energy engineering research, energy-related sustainability projects, company incubation, and associated growth in the economy in the clean green energy industry. Other academic and industrial institutions along with the federal and provincial governments would be consulted by the partners so that this cooperative venture would prove to be advantageous to the sustainability sector in Surrey in totality, the SFU and Luminous.
This partnership is mainly trying to develop not only a new R&D and manufacturing unit in Surrey but is also bent upon creating a collaborative research program with SFU for developing new Luminous products at the Surrey facility. Another aim is to support the sustainability and clean energy initiatives in Surrey. Rakesh Malhotra, the CEO and Founder of Luminous Power has stated that their company having been established two decades ago had a strong belief that clean technology was the need of the day for governments all over the world mainly because of the finite natural resources and climate change threats. He further mentioned that their association with Surrey and SFU was a significantly big step in that direction and would make certain that cost- effective and innovative clean energy solutions were developed by the continued R&D efforts. He remarked that a combination of the market expertise by Luminous and the best scientific brains at SFU along with all the assistance from the City of Surrey would definitely yield astonishing and encouraging results.
