Greenleaf Power, a company that takes over, develops and manages power plants that run on biomass fuel, declared that it has settled the terms of purchasing Colmac Energy, a biomass power production facility. Greenleaf Power did not divulge the financial details of the purchase.
Earlier, last year Greenleaf Power had bought Honey Lake biomass plant in Wendel, California, with 30 MW production facility and a 28 MW power producing plant in Scotia, California. The addition of Colmac plant will enable the company to reach over 100 MW power production capability.
Greenleaf Power has assumed the ownership of Colmac Energy by purchasing the major stakes from American Consumer Industries. The plant, which was in operation from 1992, generates around 47 MW biomass power and known as one among the largest biomass power production facilities in California. The plant currently sells the generated power under a long-term accord to Southern California Edison. The plant primarily utilizes agricultural residues, green waste and clean diverted wood as fuel.
Greenleaf Power concentrates on investing in biomass plants and develops them to generate green energy. It deploys a team of its well- experienced officials to improve the efficiency of the plants and its output to increase the profitability. It utilizes the professional services of its officials to fine-tune the functions of the plant, improve its capacity intake, and the purchase of the required biomass fuel to improve the profitability of the plants.
