Momentive Performance Materials Announces Specialty Adhesives for Solar Applications

Momentive Performance Materials, a producer of a range of specialty silicones required for the solar industry, has declared the availability of its new product TSE3822, a single component silicone. The product is said to be useful for sealing the frames of polycrystalline solar modules.

The company showcased its TSE3822 in the recently concluded SNEC 2011 International Photovoltaic Power Generation Conference & Exhibition in China. The TSE3822 is designed to supply a tough bonding without the use of a primer for a broad range of photovoltaic substrates such as glass, plastics and aluminum. The other products of Momentive Performance Materials showcased in the exhibition include TSE3661, a two-component potting compound that provides fast cure and used in the manufacture of the  junction box. TSE3852, a single component tin-free adhesive offering neutral cure and used for bonding junction box and sealing frame to offer improved performance and RTV230, a two-component fast curing adhesive sealant used in junction box binding and frame seal usages.

The other specialty products supplied by the company for the use in solar applications include materials utilized for frame sealing, potting junction box, bonding and encapsulation of PV modules and the products utilized in CPV technology.
