Tuwairqi Steel Mills Signs MOU with SolarWorld

Tuwairqi Steel Mills (TSML), a Karachi, Pakistan-based company, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with SolarWorld, a Europe-based company to explore the possibilities of installing solar energy projects in Afghanistan and Pakistan in cooperation.

The signed accord will require SolarWorld, being a solar PV producing company, to undertake a feasibility study to set up a production facility in Pakistan in partnership with TSMLE-Solar. The companies have formed a joint team to organize the required studies to assess the procedural, commercial and technical aspects for the successful execution of the MOU.

According to Muhammad Jamshed, TSML’s Engineering & Instrumentation Head, SolarWolrd will provide training for the personnel from TSMLE-Solar in formulating, erecting and selling the solar systems in addition to offering technology transfer for the solar projects set up in the region.
