GridPoint, a smart energy solutions providing company, and HOLT CAT, a dealer of Caterpillar Equipment and engine in South, North, Central, and North East Texas, have declared the erection of a 59 kW solar photovoltaic power production facility at the new training and support facility of HOLT CAT in San Antonio.
The 59 kW solar system designed and installed by GridPoint is a made to order type of module designed exclusively for the HOLT facility and incorporates latest racking features. The solar panels are installed over the roof without any roof penetration by utilizing clamps and solar wedge expertise and will generate 79,304 kWh of power every year. The 240 solar panels installed are designed to endure around 110 mph of wind speed and over 30 pounds of pressure for every square foot. HOLT CAT is planning to improve the present power production capability to 103 kW in the coming months by including extra panels to generate around 137,739 kWh every year.
The solar system is connected to the advanced monitoring facility of GridPoint to display the current and previous production data. The web access allows monitoring the performance of solar panels and the energy production every day with details of current consumption, weather data, and amount of greenhouse gas emissions offset and savings achieved.
The installation of the solar panels will reduce around 40% power consumption of HOLT and will assist the company in its aim of achieving Silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for the new building.
