MACTEC, Alpharetta, GA- based company, has declared that it will provide design and environmental engineering services and the required permit support for completing the installations for a solar power project valued at $10 million.
The solar project designed to generate around 2.4 MW clean power will incorporate around 9,500 solar panels and will be built over an unused landfill located in the Town of Scituate, MA. According to William J. Weber, P.E., Senior Principal Engineer of MACTEC, the company will accomplish a topographic survey of the location, assess the present condition of the landfill, perform the required wetland demarcation and offer civil/geotechnical engineering appraisals and permitting services. MACTEC will study the current conditions of the landfill location, set up a boundary line and categorize the likely lasting issues related to the construction of solar panels.
The project will be developed by Brightfields Development, a company that specializes in formulating and installing solar projects over polluted lands and landfills. The company as a part of their services will also provide site curing and administration and financial obligation transfer services.
