Ferro has declared the opening of a new laboratory to conduct photovoltaic research and development in Taipei City, Taiwan, located in Neihu Technology Park.
The new expansion will allow Ferro to offer the required technical support to its clients located in Taiwan on making improvements in the power capturing efficiency of the solar cells or in reducing the cost of manufacturing the solar cells. The laboratory is equipped to offer testing and technical assistance to clients in order to quicken the phase of product development and bringing redress to the related technical issues.
The test center is equipped to carry out tests associated with the deposition of metallization pastes over the solar cells. The other tests available at the center include cell printing and burning, analysis of printing quality, measuring the power production performance of the cells, wafer property analysis and solderability of the substrate and testing the adherence of the paint or coat to the substrate.
The conducted tests will help to showcase the ways to apply Ferro solar pastes and offer assistance in improving the development process of a client’s production line. The Ferro test center will also allow its clients to provide wafers to assess the effectiveness of the conductive pastes used when their own test facilities are in demand thus enabling a quicker paste qualification process.
