Solar Nation, a Portland, Oregon, headquartered company, has declared the completion of installation and commissioning of an 876 kW solar power system for Sunham Home Fashions.
The new solar system installed over the distribution center of Sunham Home Fashions, located in New Providence, New Jersey will allow the company to fulfill its commitment to eco-friendly power production and will reduce its energy bills.
Solar Nation has formulated the design and organized the installation of around 3,575 roof top solar panels each with a capability to generate 245 W power over the 130,000 square foot roof area of the building. In addition to the installation of solar panels Solar Nation has also installed two SMA America inverters for storing the power generated from the solar panels and a web-based solar power monitoring system designed by Draker Laboratories to monitor the power production. The power generated from the installation will substitute 100% of Sunham Home Fashions current utility supplied power with renewable clean energy. The power generated from the system is enough to supply electricity to around 83 homes.
The solar installation will allow Sunham Home Fashions to cut down around 618 metric tons of green house gas emissions every year, which can be equated to planting of 32,000 new trees or reducing the usage of cars that travel 1,015,000 miles.
