Cincinnati Bell Energy, a supplier of low-cost and green retail energy has declared the establishment of clean energy services to the clients of Cincinnati Bell in Ohio.
The announcement makes Cincinnati Bell as the first telecom services provider to supply retail clean energy along with its other services packages such as phone, internet and entertainment.
In order to provide retail clean energy services Cincinnati Bell has partnered with Viridian Energy, a clean energy provider who supplies 100% green renewable energy at a reasonable price. The green energy supplied by Cincinnati Bell is locally sourced from wind power generating farms, thus enabling increased impact on the local economy and reduced level of pollution. The company will supply green retail energy to its clients in southwestern Ohio at affordable rates to offer assured yearly savings over the prevailing utility power rates.
The joint venture between Viridian Energy and Cincinnati Bell will exploit the experience of Viridian in the retail energy segment and the recognized presence and robust cliental relationship of Cincinnati Bell in marketing the green retail energy services.
According to Ted Torbeck, Cincinnati Bell Communications’ President and General Manager, the convergence of energy and telecom is a first of its kind for both the industries. He added that the partnership with Viridian Energy while offering substantial savings to its customers also allows them to participate in the green environment movement.
