WESCO International, a supplier of electrical, communication, industrial and construction materials, declared that in association with Suntech Power Holdings it has completed a 625 kWp (kilowatt-peak) solar installation for the California located Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE).
The company took the assistance of Roebbelen Contracting, a general contracting company in completing the installation of solar modules, inverters and other components. The installation utilized Suntech’s solar panels manufactured at its Goodyear, Arizona, production facility.
The solar installation complete with a total of 2,272 solar panels from Suntech over nearly one acre of the CCCOE facility includes 96 kWp ground mounted installation in Alamo, California, at Lucille Mauzy School, a 26 kWp solar array over the roof of Pleasant Hill, California based CCCOE office and a 503 kWp carport array.
The solar installation during its the 25 year life period will produce over 15 million kWh of electric power thus allowing CCCOE to save millions of dollars otherwise spent on utility power.
The fully automated production facility of Suntech in Goodyear, Arizona currently manufactures 280 W multicrystalline solar panels for the use of utility and commercial scale power producers. All the models comply with the purchase requirements of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
