Global Green Growth Institute, a Seoul Korea headquartered establishment, after contracting a memorandum of understanding with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has formally opened its Middle East and North Africa (MENA) office in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi in July 2011.
GGGI will attempt to institute a green growth plan (GGP) study for the UAE and assist in cutting down greenhouse gas emissions of the country. It proposes to concentrate on formulating and introducing specific programs on topic related green growth to train the workers. The institution will work in close liaison with the UAE to support its green growth movement to achieve sustainable progress. It will embark on right ventures to introduce perfect low carbon generating green development models that will work efficiently for the oil rich and non-Annex I nations to prepare and introduce realizable targets to cut down greenhouse gas discharges in the future.
The Abu Dhabi office of GGGI will work in close liaison with the International Renewable Energy Agency, the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology and the National Climate Change Committee to fortify the present ecological initiatives of the country. Also the GGGI Abu Dhabi Office will function as a regional hub to manage the economic development and climate changes related issues all over the Middle East and North Africa.
