CO2 Solution declared that it supports the decision made by the Government of Quebec to utilize a cap and trade system to lower carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that bring about climate change in the Province.
The company thinks that its innovative carbon dioxide capture technology will serve as a key solution to help meet the proposed objectives.
The Government of Quebec is planning to put into practice a cap and trade system, as result of which big industrial plants and other key sources of GHGs and carbon dioxide would be forced to decrease their emissions yearly starting January 1, 2013. According to the plan announced, Minister Arcand mentioned that this ambitious project is aimed at decreasing GHG emissions in North America. By 2020, the province is determined to cut down emissions 20% below 1990 levels.
The company has formulated a patented enzyme-based technology to capture CO2 emissions in a cost-efficient basis from Quebec’s big industrial sources, such as power generation plants, aluminum refineries, oil and gas operations, and cement plants to efficiently meet the demands of the proposed climate change legislation. The company’s patented technology delivers a cost-effective solution for the treatment and capture of harmful emissions.
