Pedego, an electric bike manufacturing company based in the USA, within a span of two years has reached the second position in total sales among the electric bike brands available in the USA and RatePoint.com has awarded it five star status.
The electric bike designed by two baby boomers Terry Sherry and Don Dicostanzo chose to have a different design from other e-bikes. The designers accomplished this through the use of top graded components, latest technology and sleek-styling. The Pedego e-bikes though cater to the needs of all ages has a special importance for those above 40 years of age.
According to Don DiCostanzo, CEO of Pedego, the Comfort Cruisers from the company utilize potent gearless and brushless hub motor powered by a lightweight removable type of lithium battery pack. He explained that the zero emission bikes cover around 30 miles per single charge and gets recharged in one hour time. He added that the bike utilizes Shimano gears and has a triple-coated durable finish. The company also produces Interceptor electric bike with 500 W power and 48 V battery utilizing a proprietary type of electromagnetic motor.
The company has plans to showcase new bike concepts at the 2011 Interbike show to be held in Las Vegas from 14 to 16 September.
