Owners of Pietra Luxury Apartments in a Phoenix apartment community will harness the energy of the Arizona sun to cut down nearly 75% of their annual energy expenses.
The 47,000 W solar installation is anticipated to generate enough power to power the common areas of the residential district such as the club house, pool area and the leasing office. The solar installation completed over the carports of the community while keeping the cars under shade will also generate green solar power.
The solar installation project was initiated by a partnership of Westplan Investors and Wood Partners that owns the community. Mark-Taylor Residential which manages the community worked along with Renewvia Energy, a local company to build and complete the installation in around six weeks time. Renewvia utilized solar panels that are manufactured in the USA to achieve the required emission guidelines and related clean energy benefits.
The solar installation was made more competitive by APS in the form of rebates through its Renewable Energy Incentive Program. The program extends financial discounts to clients who install renewable energy power generation systems at their business or homes.
The solar installation completed through the joint endeavors of the investors and Mark-Taylor Residential will produce more than 75,000 kW of clean energy every year, thus allowing the community owners to save $20,000 annually in addition to available tax benefits.
