Rabine Group, a service provider for roofing, paving, and other construction requirements, has announced the beginning of a three phase roofing reconstruction process from September, 2011.
This initiation will be headed by Dale Shea from Rabine Paving, Rob Bajarunas, and Greg Gambla from Roofing Solutions. The roof at the company’s headquarters located at Schaumburg, Illinois will be converted into LEED approved sustainable roofing and will serve as a roofing showroom for the learning facility of Rabine Campus.
The installation of a turkey solar system comprising reflective, white roofing membrane was decided by the company after a detailed research work. The first phase of the reconstruction process will be the construction of the white PVC roof. The second phase will be the tubular solar panels installation and the third phase will be the rooftop creation, which will be the roofing showroom highlighting the market’s most advanced roofing solutions.
The reconstruction is the base for the Rabine Campus showroom that desires to offer a learning facility focussing on roofing and pavement engineering. This showroom will feature both innovative and traditional roofing and pavement systems. In 2010, the first segment was completed with Rabine Group’s parking area installation. This parking lot features 14 kinds of pavements that include decorative pavements, porous asphalt, withstanding pervious concrete, UltraLot Whitetopping, and asphalt overlays at different depths.
Greg stated that the company chose the Solyndra 70 kW solar system as it features novel, advanced design, wind uplift abilities, and light-weight components and this system is one among the latest products for the photovoltaic installations available in the U.S. Overall, this reconstruction will allow the company to save up to 10% of power consumption per year, he added.
