AEG Power Solutions, declared that it has contracted an accord with Surana Venture, an Indian company to supply balance of electrical systems such as measurement equipment, monitoring systems and inverters for a 5 MW solar power project located in Gujarat, an Indian State.
AEG PS has already received a number of contracts from solar farm developing companies in India to supply needed electrical solutions for projects worth 25 MW. The plants will be installed in various states in India including Gujarat, which has introduced a procedure for long term power purchase agreements to buy generated power from the solar farms. Gujarat has entered power purchase agreements with around 80 solar power farms to generate over 1000MW power by 2013 end. It has already installed 400 to 600 MW power production projects in the current year 2011.
The accord contracted by the company Surana is part of a solar project to be located in Gujarat in the lines of a 10 MW order signed by AEG PS with NKG Infra. The other four equipment supply agreements contracted by the company include 6.1 MW, 2 MW and two 1 MW projects to be located in various states in India. The company will utilize its new Protect PV.500 inverter showcased at Hannover exhibition in the two biggest solar projects.
In addition to the above orders the monitoring and supervision system auxiliary of the group, Skytron Energy has obtained orders worth €1 million in West India for a 45MW PV power plant to supply a complete monitoring solution which include its PVGuard supervision system, sensor measurement technology, data loggers and combiner boxes. The entry of Skytron in Indian markets before AEG Power Solutions has assisted AEG to formulate its strategy for the sub-continent.
