Robertet Flavors, a US subsidiary of Robertet Group, has chosen GeoPeak Energy to develop, deploy and service a highly efficient photovoltaic system system at their flavors production facility located in Piscataway, NJ. The panels will be roof-mounted on a 115,000 sq-ft area and will be functional by this year end.
The solar system will generate 14% of the power required by the manufacturing facility. This will bring down the yearly CO2 emissions of the site by more than 1.1 M lbs, which is equal to planting about 33,665 trees or saving 1.5 Mgal of gasoline during the lifetime of the system.
The solar system installation is part of many other environment-friendly initiatives carried out by Robertet in its New Jersey plant. These initiatives include low water usage with the help of sophisticated manufacturing methods and devices, use of sustainable packaging methods, the deployment of energy-saving HVAC and the use of sink faucets with sensors for water conservation.
Robertet USA President, Peter Lombardo said that the company’s green energy initiatives endorse the commitment of the Robertet Group towards sustainability, and at the same time offers several operational advantages. He added that in the upcoming years, Robertet will work towards reducing its carbon footprint and support environment-friendly agricultural initiatives across the globe.
GeoPeak Energy’s Chief Strategy Officer, AJ Javan said that by teaming up with GeoPeak, Robertet employees will benefit from the GeoPeak Energy Alliance Program, which offers key financial incentives to employees who plan to install GeoPeak’s solar system at their homes.
