WELTEC BIOPOWER, a Vechta-based German biogas plant manufacturing company, declared that it has set up the fifth biogas plant in the Czech Republic during summer. The agricultural biogas plant located in Pøíložany in southern Czech was built in four months.
The company has completed the concrete floor slabs casting for the modular structured plant to build the stainless steel fermenter measuring 2,500 m3 in March. Stainless steel is utilized in the construction of the fermenter to prevent corrosion to the unprotected parts due to constant exposure to ammonia compounds and hydrogen sulphide in biogas.
It commenced the construction of the 35 m3 vertical dosing feeder and the combined heat and power generation plant (CHP) in the same month. The installation of all the biogas equipment were completed in May and the biogas began running through the pipes in May. The plant has received its last approval needed to begin the test operation in June.
The biogas plant is constructed with a biogas emergency flare feature and functions without a separation unit and hygienization unit. The CHP-unit has the capability to generate 366 kW of electricity and the generated power is linked to the grid. The plant utilizes grain waste, crop silage, maize silage, grass silage, pig manure and other bio substrates that are available close to the plant as fuel. The plant has a higher level of energy efficiency and the heat generated from the plant is utilized to heat the stables and other facilities.
The plant is complete with the systems and components such as digestate processing solutions, hygienization systems, control technology, mixing technology, and fermenter technology manufactured by WELTEC BIOPOWER.
