Zero Motorcycles, Inc., North America's premier electric motorcycle manufacturer, will be making their official debut at the 2008 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, April 18th-20th in Long Beach, California. Zero Motorcycles recently announced the all-new, state-of-the-art battery-powered Zero X dirt bike which will be included in the Green Power Prix-View (booth #2212). Green Power Prix-View will display alternative energy vehicles and on-circuit activities with vehicles ranging from hydrogen-powered cars to robotic vehicles.
"We are so excited to be a part of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and especially to be involved in the debut of the Green Power Prix-View," said Neal Saiki, inventor and founder, Zero Motorcycles. "Our passion for the environment combined with our passion for performance makes the Green Power Prix-View a perfect fit for Zero Motorcycles."
The Zero X is not a gas motorcycle conversion and was designed from the ground up to operate on 100% electric power. The Zero X chassis is made out of aircraft aluminum making it one of the lightest motorcycle frames on the planet at 18 pounds. More than 300 individual parts were fabricated for the Zero X, leaving the bike at total weight of 140 pounds.
The Zero X delivers blistering acceleration and unmatched handling and maneuverability. At the same time it is quiet and green. This is the future of off road motorcycles.
