Gehrlicher Solar France, an auxiliary of Gehrlicher Solar, a Germany-based global photovoltaic company and based in France, declared that it has completed the installation of a 2.9 MWp rooftop solar system considered to be second largest in the Alsace region, France.
The solar modules were installed over the rooftops of seven warehouses owned by Ecosun Expert, a business located in the Mulhouse metropolitan area, which made the total investment needed for the project.
Gehrlicher Solar France utilized the services of contractor Adsoba to complete the installation of 12,609 solar modules and 167 inverters over an area spread around 22,000 sq m. The completed installation with a yearly power generation capability of 2.7 million kWh is anticipated to meet the electric power requirements of around 1,000 households in Hombourg and will further have enough power to supply 1,300 homes.
Wolfgang Rosenberg, Gehrlicher Solar France’s Managing Director, emphasized on the professional participation of all the team members during the installation. He added that the installation was complete ahead of schedule, which enabled it avail the feed-in-tariff of 0.602 euros per kWh generated. He explained the plan of the company to utilize the large availability of rooftops over industrial and commercial establishments in France for solar power generation by completing more such PV projects during the ensuing months.
