Sheetz, a convenience store operator, and 350Green, which develops networks of electric vehicle charging stations, have planned to develop and manage a network of electric vehicle charging stations at five Pennsylvania stores of Sheetz.
The installation of electric vehicle charging stations at the Sheetz location will be completed by the end of 2011. A Nissan Leaf can be charged by a direct current fast charger (480 V) within 25 minutes.
Sheetz shows its commitment towards the progression of the gas station through the deployment of electric vehicle charging stations. 350Green's experience with modernistic retailers assures that the new chargers to be installed at Sheetz locations will be dependable and user friendly.
Installing charging stations close to the location where populace live and work is a key part of decreasing the ‘range anxiety’, which can or else slow down the acceptance of electric vehicles. 350Green is working closely with partners throughout the nation to fulfill the growing demand for easy charging options.
The President and Chief Executive Officer at Sheetz, Stan Sheetz stated that by installing electric vehicle chargers, the company can now provide eco-friendly refueling option at the gas station to its customers.
The Chief Executive Officer at 350Green, Mariana Gerzanych commented that developing the charging network beyond public garages and houses through collaborations like this one is enabling electric vehicle ownership a practical choice for more people.
