Supreme Chemicals of GA, Inc., the manufacturer of Krud Kutter® products, is proud to announce that Original Krud Kutter® - Cleaner/Degreaser and Krud Kutter® Tough Task Remover have received Biodegradable Certification in compliance with the SCS Biodegradable Standard V3-0.
Concerns about the health of the earth’s rivers, lakes, and oceans have generated enormous interest in cleaning products, which biodegrade in water. However, the claim biodegradable has been used to mean different things by different companies, leading to consumer confusion. To help overcome this confusion, and ensure that products making the biodegradable claim meet consumer expectations, Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) has developed a special certification standard for liquid soaps, detergents, degreasers, and cleansers. This standard is designed to verify that products degrade efficiently under worst-case circumstances and that chemicals are not entering the environment at such a rate that they reach harmful concentrations before degradation can occur.
“There are quite a few cleaners that claim to be “biodegradable”, but very few have passed a certification assessment by an independent laboratory,” states Jason Roussel, director of marketing. “We’ve always maintained that our cleaners are biodegradable and eco-friendly, but with the growing number of supposed “GREEN” products, we thought it was about time we prove our products are in fact ecological and are not deceptively greenwashed.”
Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) has been providing global leadership in third-party environmental and sustainability certification, auditing, testing and standards development for more than 25 years. SCS programs span a wide cross-section of industries, recognizing achievements in green building, product manufacturing, food and agriculture, forestry and retailing. “As a global leader in 3rd party certifications of environmental claims, SCS provides customers with confidence that products certified as biodegradable are safe to the environment.” Michael Wolfe, Managing Director, Environmental Certification Services SCScertified.com
