Feeney has declared the installation completion of a 90 kW solar facility, which will allow the company to meet more than 95% of its present electric power requirements.
The U.S. Company established in 1948, produces trellis products, aluminum railings and stainless steel architectural cables, which also includes CableRail, an infill product utilized in cable railing.
The solar installation is completed over the rooftops of two buildings owned by Feeney where one is a flat membrane roof and the other is a seam metal roof with an 18 ⁰ standing feature. The solar installation completed by Santa Cruz, California- based solar installing company, Solar Technologies incorporates 190 numbers of SunPower 238 W solar panels over each building. Each solar panel in the installation is linked to a Satcon 50 kW solar inverter. The installation complete with 380 solar panels with a rating of 90.4 kW DC occupies an area of around 5,000 sq. ft. over the two buildings.
Andy Toimil, Feeney’s Vice President of Operations, stated that the solar project forms a part of the company’s allegiance towards environmental improvement, which includes use of recycled products and effective usage of energy and resources in the functions of the company. He added that by incorporating solar installation, the company is in a position to handle its energy intensive metal machining operations by utilizing solar power.
