Midwest Energy Solutions supplies different models of Chromagen solar collectors. The CR-90 solar collector covers a gross area of 1.70 square meters and has length, width and thickness of 182 centimeters, 93 centimeters and 9 centimeters respectively. This solar collector weighs 32 kilograms and has a maximum fluid capacity of 2.70 liters. The CR-90 solar collector consists of different components such as absorber plates, solar glass glazing, casing made of aluminum or steel, piping connections, tubing grid, gasket, aluminum foil and back plate.
The absorber plate of the CR-90 solar collector comprises copper fins that are attached to copper risers. This provision facilitates good heat transfer. The absorber plate of the CR-90 solar collector is coated with black chrome and nickel or with a selective solar paint. The additional coating of the absorber plate results in high energy absorption even during cold climates. This absorber plate is insulated with rigid polyurethane foam that has an overall size of 30 millimeters. The polyurethane foam is protected using a 20 millimeter mineral wool layer.
The solar collector casing is made of using different materials such as aluminum, galvanized steel or stainless steel. The EPDM gasket of the solar collector has the capacity to withstand UV radiation and variations in temperature. The back plate of the CR-90 solar collector is designed using black polypropylene sheets.
