GE Energy Industrial Solutions, an arm of GE, declared that it has accomplished a partnership accord to work along with Inovateus Solar, a South Bend, Ind, headquartered solar power integrating and distributing company to construct carports incorporated with electric vehicle (EV) chargers.
The company has declared the signing of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) accord at a press meeting held at the yearly green building expovision, Greenbuild Conference & Expo.
Earlier this year GE Energy Industrial Solutions joined forces with Inovateus to construct a 100 kWh solar carport at its Plainville, Connecticut, facility considered to be the biggest among such structures in North America. The solar carport deploys Level 2 GE DuraStation EV charging facilities and generates adequate power to charge 13 electric vehicles every day as well as provide power to the overhead lighting facilities in the parking facility.
The present partnership of GE with Inovateus will employ similar turnkey type of solar carport solution, which can be modified to meet the changed requirements of a large number of facilities such as sports complexes, office buildings, municipal offices and universities. The new Inovateus solar offerings will include GE WattStation and DuraStation EV charging stations, GE EverGold brand solar combiner boxes, switches and usual GE power distribution panels. GE will also supply its latest solar safety switches acknowledged as photovoltaic (PV) disconnects.
