Proton Holdings Berhad, an automotive manufacturer from Malaysia, has recently set in motion an electric vehicle trial in partnership with Greenlots, a company that offers charging solutions for electric vehicles.
Earlier during last month, Group Managing Director of Proton Holdings Berhad, Dato’ Sri Haji Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, has handed over eight numbers of Saga Electric Vehicles (EV) and Exora Range Extender Electric Vehicles (REEV) to the Malaysian Government at Putrajaya, the administrative capital of Malaysia, along with the first lot of Greenlots charging stations.
According to Ron Mahabir, Greenlots’ Director, By utilizing the car charging stations of Greenlots Proton will be in a position to monitor and operate the charging stations from remote through a networked charging system. The network in addition to offering technical performance of the vehicle will also offer an understanding to user performance. Proton has plans to utilize the results of this test to get ready for the commercial launch of its electric vehicles in 2013.
