Astronergy’s Thin Film Photovoltaic Panels to be Used in Thailand Solar Park

The Chint Group’s subsidiary, Astronergy has been chosen to deliver its thin film amorphous microcrystalline silicon technology (a-Si/uc-Si) photovoltaic panels for a solar park located in Thailand.

Thailand Solar Park

Astronergy’s thin film photovoltaic panels have experienced a raise in demand as they are competitively priced, use low voltage and have a superior efficiency of up to 10%. Dr. Liyou Yang, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Astronergy, stated that the production of thin film cells needs minimal energy and they can be produced using various methods. These important aspects pave the way for using less-expensive solar cells that are comparable with the performance of silicon-based solar cells, provided the climatic conditions are optimal, he added.

The solar park commissioning started on 28 October, 2011. Besides using the thin film PV panels, the park also used other components of Chint Subsidiary such as BOS system components and inverters, which minimize system implementation expenditures and improve the reliability of the entire system. The Chint Group and its subsidiaries will work together continuously with developers on upcoming renewable energy projects.
