Bioconstruccion y Energia Alternativa’s headquarters building located in Monterrey, Mexico, has utilized paint, glass and coating products of PPG Industries.
It is the first facility in Latin America to secure a LEED Platinum rating from the U.S. Green Building Council.
The 5,000-sq.ft headquarters building is built with STARPHIRE ultra-clear glass, Solarban 60 and SOLARBAN 70XL glasses. PPG’s industrial enamels called PITT-TECH DTM were applied over the building’s metal structures and beams, while SPEEDHIDE, a paint of PPG PITTSBURGH PAINTS brand, was utilized for coating its exterior and interior walls.
Solarban low-e, solar control glasses have superior solar control features and visible light transmittance, which decrease energy expenditures related to lighting and cooling of buildings. PPG is the only architectural glass producer to receive CRADLE to CRADLE rating for all its products.
Speedhide paint is the ideal product for interior applications, as it offers superior hiding and coverage qualities. It can be coated over an array of exterior surfaces with low-temperature cures, good levelling and good flow. Pitt-Tech DTM industrial enamels that are created for direct-to-metal coating offer superior impact, chemical, corrosion resistance in light to medium industrial applications.
Both interior and exterior coatings of PPG have minimal volatile organic compound content, which makes them to fulfil stringent environmental specifications of the building industry.
