Teknor Apex has declared that it will provide its wide range of raw materials to manufacturers in India and also offer the benefits incurred while receiving multiple materials from one supplier. The company’s recent expansion in product offerings and compounding capacity, which increased the company’s product portfolio, has been emphasised at Plastindia in the year 2012.
In the last three years, the company has performed various expansions of compounding capabilities for thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), nylon, and rigid and flexible vinyl. Currently, the company operates twelve manufacturing plants in Belgium, USA, Singapore, China and UK. The company also continually offers new compounds in product categories comprising many specially formulated materials for wire and cable, wide range of medical TPEs of Medalist portfolio and vinyl compounds for user-defined molding.
Now, the company is offering diversified Sarlink brands of TPEs including polyolefin, vulcanizate for e.g. thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) elastomers, and styrenic families. The Sarlink TPVs consists of a polypropylene matrix made of the vigorously vulcanized EPDM rubber. The Sarlink TPVs show elasticity as that of rubber, which makes the thermoplastics processing method easier. The Sarlink TPVs can be used in various applications such as automotive, under-hood / under-bonnet and sealing-system.
Jan Duyfjes, a responsible person for TPE sales and marketing in India, stated that the Sarlink TPV elastomers represent a superior alternative to vinyl and rubber for India’s automotive industries. Duyfjes said that the new brand elastomers ensure resistance to high temperatures and better resistance to weathering when compared to other TPEs. Duyfjes added that the recyclable Sarlink elastomers provide increased design flexibility for tough constructions, long-lasting sealing solutions and reduced production expenses.
The Teknor apex’s compound materials can help establish the use of flexible vinyl and other Medalist TPEs in medical applications. The vinyl compounds supplied by Teknor apex will be used in various wire and cable industries for about six decades.
