Climate Savers Computing Initiative (CSCI) has declared the release of the report titled “Power Management for Networking Devices”. The seven hundred member consortium focuses on information and communication technologies (ICT) in order to minimize its energy usage and the CO2 emission.
Among the three CSCI white papers, the recent report is the second one, which is developed to assist in design of the organizations, and also manage and specify energy efficiency optimized networks.
The members of CSCI, who developed the white papers, are from various organizations such as Cisco, Juniper Networks, Broadcom Corporation, Intel, PowerOne, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and Microsoft. The second report acts as a resource to improve energy efficiency of the networks in any organization. The report elaborates about the methods to save on organization’s energy expenses by improving and monitoring the performance efficiency of the networking systems, and how to improve power savings in the entire network. The white paper also provides assistance to the information technology teams and the networking device designers in fulfilling the needs of power management.
George O. Goodman, CSCI’s Executive Director, stated that the CSCI members who drive energy efficiency and assist many organizations ranging from SMBs to global telecom operators, have released the white papers to make organizations realize the financial and environmental benefits of energy efficient network systems.
