ENN Solar Energy, headquartered in Langfang, jointly with National Energy Renewable Corp (NERC) has built a new solar farm, which delivers a power output of about 100 million kWh, in the Edgeboro Landfill’s south slope in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
The solar power generation facility is innovatively constructed using the company’s 9,000 photovoltaic panels and state-of-the-art solar modules made of thin film silicon, in order to allow the use of the wasteland for the production of renewable energy.
The site was prepared for connection to the power grid by subjecting the solar plant to a compliance test so that its clean power output is available to the consumers in New Jersey through Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) company.
ENN solar energy is a specialist in the design of photovoltaic modules of about 5.7 sq.m., which are employed in the construction of a wide range of industrial and commercial projects throughout Europe, China and other areas. A novel “floating” design was deployed for the installation of the ENN’s large PV modules for the Edgeboro project. The new floating architecture enables the PV modules to securely fasten the PV panels to the landfill surface without penetrating the landfill cap. Since the solar panels do not penetrate the landfill cap, the hazard of flammable methane gas leak is decreased.
