Mitsubishi Introduces i-MiEV Electric Vehicle in Canada

The first electric vehicle, i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle) has been introduced in Canada at Waverley Mitsubishi. The first car was sold to a long-time fan of electric vehicles, Ross Redman. Mitsubishi has been working towards developing this electric vehicle for the past few years.

Major part of Manitoba’s electricity is generated by its grid-mix, which is free of greenhouse gas (CHG). Ross Redman’s daily routine includes a number of devices that are eco-friendly, the latest addition being the electric car. A number of Manitobans like Redman are ardent followers of eco-friendly measures and believe that by switching to electric vehicles from gasoline vehicles will result in large-scale reductions in CHG.

The i-MiEV is now available with all the vehicle dealers in Canada and will be hitting the roads in January 2012. The electric vehicle can accommodate up to four passengers, it is of the subcompact hatchback type and comprises five doors. It is ecological and an efficient vehicle and provides a smooth ride. It is priced at an affordable rate and is capable of running at 130 km/h and can run up to 155 Km. The vehicle has been declared as the winner of the ‘Fuel Economy Leaders: 2012 Model Year’ by the EPA annual Economy Guide in the US. It is available in two trim models.
