ONYX Successfully Ships Solar Panels to China for Honduras Project

ONYX Service and Solutions have successfully shipped solar panels to China for installation in the West Bay Lodge Project in Honduras.

The management of ONYX has made arrangements for their installation personnel to arrive at Roatan on 29 and 30 December, even before the solar panels are delivered. Local personnel will also be working with ONYX personnel during installation.

ONYX has signed a Letter of Intent with the Wet Bay Lodge on 10 October for the construction of the solar project, which will provide power to the West Bay resort. After the letter was signed, ONYX and West Bay Lodge have worked together for finalising the scope of the solar power project and the project requirements. The approach that ONYX has adopted for the construction is different from that adopted by other solar companies by being independent of the government subsidies and competition against coal-fired electricity producers. After conducting a thorough market research, the ONYX management has identified those sectors that were dependent on electricity generated from diesel and chose them as their target customers for selling the solar generated power systems. Latin America and the Caribbean were amongst the regions that were categorised as high diesel power generating zones. Apart from the West Bay project, ONYX is developing multiple solar project in Honduras, one of which has a power generation capacity of 22 MW.
