Evatran, a manufacturer of industry’s first wireless electric vehicle charging systems called Plugless Power solutions, has established a satellite office in the Research Triangle Park located in North Carolina.
Evatran will accommodate its sales and engineering teams in the new space situated at 1100 Perimeter Park. The company will also open an Advanced Research and Development center at the new space. It will continue its headquarters and production operations in Wytheville, Virginia.
Evatran is a developer of sophisticated recharging technologies for electric vehicles such as Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Volt. The company was incepted in 2009 as a 100% subsidiary of MTC Transformers, a producer of electrical transformers. Since its spun off from MTC Transformers, Evatran has teamed up with Sears Home Services, a company specializing in appliance installation services nationwide, and Yazaki North America, a Tier 1 supplier of automotive solutions, to facilitate the commercialization of its Plugless Power wireless recharging technology.
Timothy Briggs, who serves as Evatran’s Chief Financial Officer, stated that the company is happy to launch its satellite office in the Research Triangle Park region. He added that the company plans to team up with vendors and customers in the region in order to extend its dominance in the wireless charging market and strengthen its status as a clean technology company.
