Car Charging Group, a provider of charging services for Electric Vehicles (EV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), has expanded its infrastructure for EV charging services in Florida.
The company has added EV charging services to shopping centers in Sarasota and Orlando owned by the Brixmor Property Group. The Car Charging Group is collaborating with Brixmor to install EV charging stations across locations at Brixmor properties. Car Charging has installed Coulomb Technologies’ 240 V Level II charging stations at the shopping malls.
Brixmor has opened a Publix grocery store at the shopping centre in Sarasota. The EV charging services form part of the redevelopment at the shopping mall. EV drivers now have the facility of charging up in Sarasota at the Sarasota Village and at Pointe Orlando, across the Orange County Convention Center.
Locating charging stations at retail outlets and shopping malls will help customers having EVs to charge their vehicles while they perform their shopping. Customers at Brixmor will gain access to the ChargePoint Network, which is a global network of charging stations. The Car Charging Group allows its customers to make reservations, and pay in different modes. The company will track the energy usage, patterns, revenues, and costs through the cloud-based software service plans through the ChargePoint Network. Mobile apps from ChargePoint, including Blackberry, iPhone and Android help EV drivers. The company also provides driver support and mapping services.
