Vario green energy has announced the availability of a solar yield calculator for Android smartphones. The solar yield calculator for iPhone version is already available in the market.
Roof and house owners can use the free application on their cell phones to determine the generation of power from a photovoltaic plant and the amount of carbon dioxide that can be saved. This solar calculator application is available in Italian, German and English.
The solar calculator depends on the average solar radiation produced annually at the site, to estimate the potential yield of a photovoltaic system. GPS tracking allows this application to verify the location. Orientation and tilt can be identified automatically with the latest mobile phones when the device is kept horizontally on the roof. This is possible by means of compass and motion control functions. Information can also be entered manually.
The user may include parameters like the system’s performance and efficiency and the nature of the mounting system for the calculation. A primary assessment will show which plant properties can give the maximum yield. All the values are fairly accurate.
According to Axel Fellhauer, Vario’s Managing Director, this recent Android version available in three languages will help more smartphone owners, besides the current iPhone app. Through this way, the company wants to attract more people towards solar energy.
