GreenVolts, a supplier of integrated solar system, has formed a strategic partnership with Independent Solar Developers (ISD) for agricultural applications in South California.
Solar energy can be used for agricultural purposes. In fact, agricultural businesses in California need more than 2,000 MW of power and utilize over 10 TWh per annum. ISD has teamed up with GreenVolts to devise a solution, which offers inexpensive and long term power supply as well as land use, planning and installation of project, and operational advantages customized to this energy market.
ISD can support the project financially. The company is providing customized solutions for food processing, cattle and irrigation and other applications of agriculture, as its first project is operating successfully.
The concentrating photovoltaic (CPV) systems from GreenVolts are efficient solar technology suitable for hot environments like the agricultural areas in the Southwest U.S.
The configuration of modular design can be done for distributed loads. The system incorporates ISIS, an energy management software. ISIS enables remote monitoring and management of the entire systems on the internet.
According to David Gudmundson, GreenVolts’ CEO and President, ISD has proven itself as clients’ total solution partner. Energy analysis and system audits that incorporate financing, usage and load patterns, and maintenance and operations are provided by ISD. The company has installed the systems for irrigation in Coachella Valley.
