A subsidiary of Mercury Energy, Mercury Solar Systems has completed a $17.2 million worth solar project in Manalapan, New Jersey. The project includes installation of a 3.6 MW ground-mounted solar system.
Mercury Solar Systems has partnered with Spano Partners Holdings, a developer of the project, and NJR Clean Energy Ventures, owner of the solar system, to carry out the 3.6 MW project.
Mercury Solar Systems’ CEO, Frank Alfano stated that the ground-mounted solar system is the largest system they have designed and deployed so far and also highlights the continuous strength of the commercial-scale solar market in the state.
The installation comprises more than 12,000 solar panels at Manalapan and the entire solar system is estimated to generate 4.5 million kWh of energy per year. The total amount of energy is sufficient to power around 450 homes peryear. The project is expected to prevent 3,100 metric tons of carbon emissions from the environment annually, which is equal to removing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions produced by about 609 cars. The 3.6 MW system is designated to be as one of the state's largest grid-interconnected, ground-mounted solar systems.
As one of the East Coast’s leading solar integrators, Mercury Solar Systems designs and installs solar power systems and solar panels for both residential and commercial applications. Till date, the company has deployed almost 2,000 solar systems.
