Blue Star Gas, a propane distribution company, announced that it will display a black 2008 Ford Expedition SUV powered by propane autogas at the Limousine, Charter & Tour (LCT) event. The event is scheduled from February 13 to 15, 2012 at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
The use of autogas, an inexpensive and domestically produced cleaner-burning fuel, in commercial vehicle fleets helps minimize harmful pollutants and saves fuel costs. In addition, it helps increase the US energy security.
It is reported that propane autogas costs $1 per gallon less than petroleum-derived fuel and the fleets using autogas experience decreased maintenance costs. Autogas is the world’s third most extensively used fuel and 90% of the US clean fuel supply is produced in America.
Brett Flanigan and Darren Engle, autogas experts of the company, will participate at the exhibit hosted by Propane Education Research Council and educate for-hire commercial fleets about the advantages of autogas. Engle stated that the start-up cost required to switch over to autogas is highly economical compared to various other alternative fuels.
As a member of the Alliance AutoGas complete program, Blue Star Gas will deliver fuel stations, autogas vehicle conversions, staff training and technical services and support. The company is striving to make this economical clean fuel as a highly feasible option for several US fleets.
