ICF International has signed an $11.5 million worth extended energy efficiency agreement with Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO). Under the terms of the agreement, ICF will continue to support SMECO’s energy efficiency programs for the next three years in the residential, industrial and commercial markets.
The initiatives include commercial programs, home performance and home energy audits, new construction, heating and cooling projects and lighting and appliances programs. ICF will educate homebuilders, home improvement trade partners, homeowners and SMECO stakeholders about the benefits of energy savings and the value of ENERGY STAR as well as higher energy efficiency standards. In addition, the company will offer guidance, technical support and training to trade allies, commercial firms and other SMECO stakeholders to identify and deliver measures appropriate for incentive funding.
ICF is an ideal partner for SMECO in delivering various services, which range from recycling refrigerators to supporting major commercial clients with large projects, and from delivering coupons for compact fluorescent lightings to refunds for ENERGY STAR appliances, stated SMECO’s Manager for environmental programs and energy conservation, Jeff Shaw. Both the organizations have worked on EmPOWER Maryland programs to help SMECO’s customer-members save both energy and money.
ICF provides technology solutions and professional services to a wide range of customers in the global energy industry. The company’s client portfolio includes gas transmission companies, energy traders and marketers, municipal power authorities, public utilities, financial institutions, regulators and industry associations.
