Encos, a developer of ultra-low carbon construction products, announced that it has secured a place in the Innovation Future Zone at Ecobuild 2012 exhibition, which will be held from March 20 to 22 at ExCeL center in London.
The company’s carbon-negative bricks and brick slips have been selected as one among the 25 final contestants in the Innovation Future Zone Competition.
The competition is co-operatively sponsored by The Green Building Council, The Technology Strategy Board, Marks & Spencer and The Knowledge Transfer Network for the Modern Built Environment. The contest has been designed to recognize new products and technologies that meet various challenges of the environment such as achieving enhancements in water and energy reduction and efficiency; improving the use of recycled materials in construction products; and attaining zero percent construction waste to landfill. The winner of the competition will have the opportunity to become a part of one of the Sustainable Learning Stores of Marks & Spencer.
The CEO of Encos, Mark Nichols stated that they are pleased to achieve the opportunity to showcase, demonstrate and discuss about the features of brick slips and carbon-negative bricks at Ecobuild 2012 event. He also added that it is the right place to explain how their products can help enhance the sustainability performance of new constructions and in renovation projects.
