An Indian solar PV module manufacturer and an EPC contractor, Waaree, has completed the designing, procurement, construction and commissioning of a 10 MW ground-mounted solar project in Gujarat, India.
The company has received the project from M/s Monosteel India. The project includes 40,000 units of multi-crystalline solar modules from Waaree that will help in converting sunlight into clean electricity. The project also features the seasonal tilt technology that improves the performance of the plant.
The Gujarat PV facility has been constructed as per the 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) and the Gujarat State Solar Power Policy 2009. The plant has a capacity to produce over 20.5 million units of electricity per year, which is equivalent to eliminating approximately 10,754 tons of carbon emissions. The amount of electricity generated is also equal to removing nearly 11,000 cars off the road annually. The solar project has been inspected and authorized to meet all standards. It is now ready to supply energy to utilities in Gujarat. This project contributes to India’s energy security and also helps balance carbon emissions from the fossil fuel-based power plants.
The Indian contactor aims to increase its PV module production capacity to over 500 MW. In addition, the company has taken an initiative to advance green energy by installing a 10 KW solar rooftop system at its manufacturing plant in Surat. Waaree is also involved in the process of deploying a 100 KW solar system at Bonetti Waaree, Vapi-based valve manufacturing facility.
