Vikram Solar, a poly crystalline solar module producer in India, declared that it has commissioned and launched a 2 MW solar grid-connected power plant at Kharora, situated near Raipur in Chhattisgarh, India.
The plant will offer renewable solar energy solutions to rural and remote areas. It enhances energy usage and even offers power backup during grid failure.
Chhattisgarh Investment and RPSSGP Scheme of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) have sponsored this project.
In December 2011, Vikram Solar has commissioned a 5 MW solar plant at Gujarat, which was funded by Konark Gujarat PV. Further, a 1 MW solar plant at Rourkela, Orissa was launched and a third 1 MW project has been commissioned at Bamra, Sambalpur District, Orissa. These projects were also funded by various companies.
Furthermore, other projects are underway at different states of India, including Gujarat, Uttaranchal and Rajasthan. In total, Vikram Solar has commissioned 8 MW power projects through the four solar plants.
The company’s EPC division, Vikram Proener has introduced different initiatives in the Indian solar space through these four projects. The company has added numerous EPC projects, reaching up to 100 MW and will extend it furthermore to cut down carbon emissions in the world.
Even though solar energy has gained importance throughout the world, it is at the beginning stage in India. The company wants to mould the solar industry and focus on green energy revolution in India.
