SunPower, a producer of solar systems and other products, has declared that it has signed a deal with Giulio Barbieri, an Italian company that manufactures aluminum modular coverings, to model and produce a solar carport for homes in Italy.
As per the contract, Giulio Barbieri will supply carports based on specific requirements of customers. Subsequently, the local partners of SunPower will install the solar carports comprising solar panels, inverters and aluminum structure. The system is easy to install, strong and durable.
Four types of the SunPower Carport are available in the market. The carport can be configured to fit two to three cars. About 18, 24 and 32 of SunPower's 96-cell, solar panels can be included into the carport. Based on the system size, the solar panels can produce power between 5.9 kW and 10.5 kW. To deliver optimum energy output, the system is kept in a slanting position
Howard Wenger, who serves as the regional President for SunPower, stated that the company designs and deploys commercial solar carport systems at businesses and schools throughout North America and is happy to provide novel solutions to the Italian house owners. He added that the partnership with Giulio Barbieri will allow SunPower to provide solar panels to house owners interested in using solar power but have limited space at their rooftops.
